Are you ready to make a real impact at a forward-thinking, high-achieving school? At Calday Grange Grammar School we are looking for an exceptional finance leader to take the helm as Chief Financial Officer & Procurement Manager — a pivotal role that combines strategic influence, financial leadership, and operational excellence.

At Calday, we recognise the value of work-life balance. While this is a full-time role, we are open to exploring flexible working arrangements — including hybrid working, compressed hours, and flexible start/finish times. If flexibility matters to you, let’s have that conversation at the interview stage.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a prestigious and ambitious school, working directly alongside the Headteacher, Governors, and Senior Leadership Team. This is a high-profile role where your expertise will shape the financial direction and success of our organisation. You’ll be empowered to drive efficiency, unlock value, and lead with purpose.

We have excellent systems and controls in place and reports from auditors are highly complementary.

Your Key Responsibilities:

●       Lead Financial Strategy: Drive the efficient, effective, and compliant management of the school’s financial activities in line with our educational and organisational goals.

●       Own Procurement Excellence: Ensure we’re getting the best quality equipment, goods, and services — at the best possible value — to keep the school running at its best.

●      Be the Financial Face of the School: As CFO, you’ll be our key liaison with external stakeholders such as the Local Authority and Department for Education, ensuring full compliance with statutory reporting and timelines.

●       Shape Our Future: Play an integral role in supporting the ethos, values, and ambitions of the school.

What We’re Looking For:

●       A qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a proven track record of impactful financial leadership — experience in the education or academy sector is a bonus.

●       A confident and collaborative leader with a passion for excellence, innovation, and high standards.

●       Someone who brings experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach.

This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to shape the future of a thriving educational community.

Are you the dynamic, driven, and visionary finance professional we’re looking for?
